Welcome to the Chicago Hip-Hop Knowledge Base (CHHKB), a specialized wiki designed to provide a comprehensive and organized overview of Chicago hip-hop history. Our pages present concise, factual information designed to be a starting point for research. We aim to offer data and information that will provide context and connections for all elements of Chicago hip-hop history.

Launched in 2024 with support from UIC and in collaboration with the Chicago Hip-Hop Heritage Museum, this project has so far created pages for 290 emcees, DJs, street dancers, graffiti writers and many others members of the Chicago hip-hop community.

The CHHHP is a Semantic MediaWiki project, which is built on the same platform as Wikipedia but includes semantic extensions that allow properties (variables) to be stored in a database and queried to produce information.

This wiki is administered by the CHHHP team and attempts to adhere to the five pillars of WikiEditing.
