Dirty M.F. is an emcee and disc jockey from Chicago, Illinois. He is known for his contribution to the city’s underground scene in the 1990s. He was a central figure in the development of the Blue Groove Lounge, a regular Monday-night open mic series that became a key venue for freestyle rap and DJ performances in Chicago’s hip hop community. He emphasizes the importance of crowd interaction and freestyle skill in his work. In 2020, Dirty M.F. co-hosted the Winter Block Party: “We the People” in Chicago, reflecting on the event’s community-driven ethos and reconnecting with fellow Blue Groove artists. Additionally, he contributed vocals to the Chicago acid jazz collective Liquid Soul, featuring on their track “Afro Loop” and helping to blend hip hop within the band’s jazz-infused sound.[1]
