Da General
Mandrell Davis, professionally known as Da General, is an emcee from the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. He developed an interest in rap music early, writing his first song at age ten. His influences include D.A. SMART, Twista, Spice One, N.W.A., Crucial Conflict, Scarface, KRS-One, Rakim, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., and Gang Starr.
Da General has performed at open mic events and has opened for both independent and major artists such as Rick Ross, Twista, Scarface, UGK, Eightball and MJG, and Mc Eight. His performances have taken place at venues including Mr. Ricky’s, The Cotton Club, The 50 Yard Line, Rodney’s, Mr. G’s, The Regal Theater, The Amphitheater, Backstage On Broadway, The Loft, and Sub T.
He runs a showcase in Gary, Indiana called Show Up And Show Out, designed to provide local talent a platform to perform and learn about becoming independent artists. In 2017, Da General released his first singles, including “What If,” “Checklist,” and “It’s My Birthday.”
In addition to his music career, Da General serves as President of Terror Records Inc., a label growing in influence in the Midwest. He continues to pursue his career as an artist while expanding his role in the music industry. <rec>https://www.terrorrecordsinc.com/da-general</rec>
