Crucial Conflict is an American hip hop group from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1993. The group consists of members Wildstyle, Kilo, Coldhard, and Never, all of whom grew up on the West Side of Chicago. They are best known for their 1996 single "Hay" from their debut album The Final Tic, as well as the 1998 track "Scummy" from Good Side, Bad Side. Crucial Conflict gained mainstream attention in 1996 when "Hay" received national airplay, significantly boosting sales of The Final Tic. The album was released under Universal Records and achieved gold certification later that year. In 1998, they released their sophomore effort, Good Side, Bad Side. The group has frequently collaborated with fellow Chicago hip hop artists, including Do or Die and Twista. After a decade marked by label disputes and involvement in local projects, Crucial Conflict released their third studio album, Planet Crucon, in 2008.[1][2]
