Rodney Lucas (born on December 11, 1982), professionally known as F.Stokes, is an emcee from the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. He later moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where he attended Madison West High School, and eventually relocated to New York City, where he interned at Def Jam Recordings and worked at Grandstand Entertainment.

His stage name is inspired by Flukey Stokes, a figure from his childhood neighborhood. F.Stokes released his debut collaborative album Death of a Handsome Bride with producer Lazerbeak in 2009. His subsequent projects include the Love, Always EP (2012) and the album Fearless Beauty (2013), produced entirely by Paper Tiger. He also appeared as a rap coach on MTV’s Made and starred in the 2015 short film Melville.

His musical influences include Patti Smith, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, and Kanye West, and his early work reflects his experiences growing up around street culture.[1][2][3][4][5]
