Welcome to the project! As an editor, you will need to know the basics of encyclopedic editing and the basic foundations of Chicago hip-hop history (as well as hip-hop in general). This page is designed to give you the resources to get started quickly.
Get Ready to WikiEdit
Start by watching this video about basic editing, which will show you how simple it can be to edit a wiki.
Next, try the random page technique described in this wiki and see how it goes. Then, complete the folloing readings related to wiki editing...
- Read the Wikipedia guide for writing better articles. Please pay special attention to the section on style and tone.
- Please follow these wiki conventions for writing biographical information about a living person and this list of do's and don'ts.
- Get familiar with MediaWiki Markup and the Wikitext markup language. Look at the mark-up (source code) of a couple of Wikipedipa pages.
- Keep in mind that the project supports basic HTML, such as

or embeds, etc.
