The Chicago Hip-Hop History Project: Inclusion Criteria

The initial population of subjects included in the encyclopedia came from four sources:

• A poster at the Chicago Hip-Hop Heritage Museum which includes 155 names.

• The WHPK-FM Hip-Hop Hall of Fame Plaque in the archives of the Chicago Hip-Hop Heritage Museum which lists 301 names.

• Toxic's music video for the song "Cold", which chronicles the history of Chicago hip-hop and lists hundreds of names, 392 names have have so far been evaluated for entry into the encyclopedia.

• Wikipedia articles categorized under "Rappers from Chicago", which included '142 names.
