O Type Star
Jeff Baraka, known professionally as O Type Star, is an American emcee from Chicago.
Baraka’s only official solo release for many years was the 2003 single “A Different Type of Cancer.” He later released a promotional EP containing new tracks, remixes, and semi-live recordings. The EP included material from the sampler *Urban Myth* and previewed his planned debut album, *Driving Songs Vol. 1*, which was scheduled for release in April of its announcement year.
The track “Soul Oasis” was produced by No I.D.. Baraka was previously a member of the collective Cyphernauts, with MC Juice, Mr. Greenweedz, and Akbar. The group’s track “Cryogenic” featured a guest appearance by Common. Baraka was also a part of the group The Insomnitracks. [1] There
