Prince Markie Dee

Mark Anthony Morales (February 19,1968 - February 18, 2021), professionally known as Prince Markie Dee, was an emcee from Chicago, Illinois. Morales co-founded the hip-hop group the Disco 3—later known as the Fat Boys—with Darren Robinson and Damon Wimbley in the early 1980s. The group gained national attention after winning a talent contest in 1983 and went on to release seven albums, including three certified gold and one platinum. Their 1987 collaboration with The Beach Boys, "Wipeout," reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group also appeared in feature films such as Krush Groove and Disorderlies.

Following the group's decline in popularity, Morales pursued a solo career and released the single "Typical Reasons (Swing My Way)" in 1992, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. He later co-founded the production duo Soul Convention and produced for artists including Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, and Mariah Carey. In addition to music production, Morales worked as a radio personality, most recently with SiriusXM’s Rock the Bells Radio.
